Detect
Recognise the patterns that show up in most scams: urgency, secrecy, a new payee, a request to install something.
Product intentMoneetra Family — early validation
Scammers only need to fool your family once.
Keep your parents safer online, even when you're not there. Moneetra Family is a planned Android app that would help your family stop, verify and recover when someone pretends to be their bank, the police or a relative.
No app yet. Nothing is charged today — we're testing what families actually need.
The wedge we’re testing
Stop
Interrupt the moment of pressure, before money moves.
Verify
Confirm who is really asking, with a trusted second pair of eyes.
Protect
Make the safer action the easiest action.
Recover
Know exactly what to do in the first hour after damage.
Product intent — these are the capabilities we are validating, not shipped features.
A real threat scenario
This is the pattern families describe most often: a convincing voice, a reason to hurry, and a request to move money.
Incoming call — 14:12
An unknown number. The caller knows her name, her bank and the last four digits of her card.
Impersonation
“Good afternoon, Mrs Bennett. I'm calling from your bank's fraud team. Someone is trying to access your account.”
Urgency and secrecy
“Don't discuss this with anyone in the branch — the investigation is confidential. We only have a few minutes.”
The payment request
“Mum, this is your bank. Your savings are at risk. Move £5,000 now to your new safe account.”
Where Moneetra would step in
“High risk. Stop and verify before paying.”
Product intent: at this point Moneetra would aim to interrupt, explain the risk in plain language, and let a family member she trusts confirm the request. We cannot promise every scam would be caught.
How Moneetra would help
Recognise the patterns that show up in most scams: urgency, secrecy, a new payee, a request to install something.
Product intentHelp confirm who is really asking — a second opinion from someone the person already trusts, in seconds.
Product intentWarn calmly before a risky payment or install, in language that makes sense to a 70-year-old.
Product intentIf money has already gone: guided steps for the bank, the police report and the evidence to keep.
Product intentYour answer shapes what we build first. It takes one tap and tells us more than any survey.
Pick one to continue — we'll ask three short questions.
What we're focused on
A “fraud team” calls, creates panic and asks for a transfer to a safe account.
“Hi Mum, this is my new number” — followed by an urgent request for money.
A polished adviser, screenshots of profits, and pressure to send more.
“Technical support” asks to install an app so they can fix a problem.
A delivery, tax or bank message with a link that asks for card details.
A new beneficiary, a crypto transfer, or a request to move savings quickly.
Privacy & trust
A safety product that spies on the family it protects is not worth having. This is the boundary we're designing to.
Read the privacy approachMoneetra is not spyware and is not built to read a family’s private life.
A guardian would not automatically get access to all messages or calls.
Sensitive features would require explicit consent from the person being protected.
Privacy-first by design: the minimum data needed to help, and nothing more.
This validation site collects only what it needs — no scam texts, no payment details.
Pricing we're testing
These are hypotheses, not a shop. Choosing a plan tells us whether the price is right — you are not charged.
£7.99
per month
One person protected. Useful for a parent living alone.
per month, up to 5 people
Up to five people, shared guardians, recovery help for whoever needs it.
Hypothesis: Moneetra Family at the price shown, billed monthly, covering up to five family members. Nothing is charged during validation.
Not as a finished app. Moneetra Family is in early validation: we are testing the problem, the positioning and the price before writing the app. Everything described here is product intent.
The hypothesis is Android first — it's the more common platform among the parents and older relatives this is aimed at. iPhone support would follow if the pilot works.
No. The design boundary is that sensitive access requires explicit consent from the person being protected, and only for the specific feature that needs it.
No. A guardian would see a risk alert and be able to help verify a request — not browse someone’s private conversations.
No, and we will never claim that. Scams evolve. The goal is to interrupt the most common patterns and to make verifying easy before money moves.
The Recover phase is about the first hour: contacting the bank, reporting to the police, and keeping the evidence you'll need. Today we can only point you to your bank and national reporting service.
Focus. One platform lets us ship a real pilot to real families sooner, instead of half a product on two platforms.
Four short questions, then the plan we’re testing. No payment, no app store, no spam.
